Forms+Surfaces are active participants in green building councils worldwide and current members of the U.S. Green Building Council, Emirates Green Building Council and Green Building Alliance. Lead by a sustainability team that stays up-to-date on evolving International building standards, their involvement will continue to grow as needs arise and new opportunities for staying at the forefront of environmental stewardship are identified. Recycling programs have been implemented in all of Forms+Surfaces facilities, maximizing landfill diversion. Additionally, over ninety percent of their site furniture product lines are now manufactured with FSC certified wood as the standard. This certification serves as a guarantee that the wood has been harvested in an environmentally and socially sustainable way. Forms+Surfaces goal is to convert all site products to FSC certified wood as the standard by the end of 2009.
Spectis Moulders Inc. continually improves its manufacturing process to provide the greatest possible quality with minimal affect to the environment. The following are some examples of what we do to minimize environmental impact: 1. Our products have never been made from CFC’s, HCFC’s, or any other ozone depleting compound. 2. All of our products are coated with water base paints, which reduces the greenhouse effect and exceeds government VOC regulations. 3. All of our products are chemically stable and non-reactive. 4. None of our products emit toxic gases. 5. We use materials, which contain post-consumer content. This reduces landfill loading. 6. All waste materials are routed for recycling.
