Location is everything. The Nichols purchased this intracoastal property knowing they wanted to demo the existing structures so they could design and build their dream home on the water. Finally completed, their grand estate in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida features an opulent new oceanfront house, backyard pool with ocean view, and vast front yard with elegant palm trees lining the driveway.

When designing the lighting plan, Thornbrough & Associates had to consider not only the various outdoor themes and features requested by the owners, they also had to factor in the harsh salty conditions and severe storms of the region.

To provide the theming and dimming options that would expand the Nichols’ outdoor space and emphasize the perimeter of the property, Thornbrough & Associates specified FX Luminaire’s Luxor Lighting Controller. Due to the harsh salt air, the firm chose FX high-quality brass fixtures with sealed shields that could stand up to the harsh elements.
