Pad Placement - Low Elevation Decks
Typically, at the very lowest elevations (up to about 1 1/2''), stackable ¼” and 3/8” fixed height support pads are used to support pavers, with the pads placed under each corner of the paver. Pads can be stacked row by row as necessary to level pavers over sloping substrates and 1/16”-1/8” thick shims are used for minor adjustments. When pavers need elevated above 1.5” a transition to adjustable height pedestals becomes necessary.
