PowerBase YSR is based on the concept of scaling the surface properties to athlete body size and relative impact forces. PowerBase YSR has been tuned for youth and recreational athletes to maximize safety, but at the same time maintain surface stiffens for a specific body weight range. Based on research provided by independent biomechanical research, a specific force-deflection curve of the YSR has been engineered through a combination of geometrical design, material thickness and material density to achieve optimal safety and stiffness for youth athletes. This scaling to the system creates a surface that is of equal stiffness and safety for a young athlete as compared to a system with the PowerBase PRO for the larger elite athlete. PowerBase YSR can also be used under landscape turf applications, including playgrounds with fall height safety requirements of up to 6 feet.
