Alderbrook Resort is anhistoric luxury hotel and resort located in Union, WA and situated along Hood Canal. There are numerous wonderfully designed spaces around the property. We had the opportunity to be a part of an exterior courtyard renovation in 2018.

We provided custom steel planters, and central water feature for the project. The planters were a customversion of our Square and Rectangle planters in various sizes. The courtyard was separated into several spaces using the paving and raised deck areas. The planters and water feature were all integral in the construction of the pedestal set deck areas. The planters lined the deck perimeters and help provide a privacy buffer to the other common areas in the open air walkways.

Since the courtyard is on a roof deck, the planters and water feature were set on leveling pedestals to account for the slope of the roofing they were sitting on. The planters were custom built and constructed using steel. They included a top flange, drainage holes, and were pre-rusted prior to shipping.

The arch water feature was placed in the center of the courtyard and served as a focal point of the space. The calming sounds from falling water and light effects at night transform the courtyard into a wonderful amenity and gathering space.

The water feature was built from .25” thick powder coated aluminum in dark bronze with straight sides. The accessories include an autofill, centrifugal pump with debris filter, and underwater lighting. All of the equipment (except the autofill) is concealed under the decking to allow for easy access and maintenance.
