Building Cure is a Seattle Children’s Hospital research facility in Seattle, WA. The parking lot sits adjacent to the research facility and is otherwise open to the surrounding streets. Planters were installed along the outside in order to secure major sections of the parking lot and create barriers for the vehicles to the adjacent sidewalks. We had the opportunity to provide custom sized large rectangle planters for the project.
The 5’ to 9’ long planters were built from weathering 12 gauge (corten) steel with a top flange and optional leveling feet. The planters were bolted together to add additional security. The native and ornamental plant mix in the planters adds an additional privacy buffer and beauty.
