The playful environment at Akron Zoo significantly impacts visitors' experiences. We worked with AFH Design (www.afhdesign.com) to create custom interpretive signage that adds to their existing environment and helps to engage and inspire visitors. Unique shapes and materials incorporate a display of Akron Zoo's branding. Interpretive signs feature moving parts and mechanical elements that visitors interact with. Signage also follows zoo guidelines and accommodates animal needs. The zoo entrance sign, for instance, was fabricated to act as an emergency gate; If a giraffe needed to leave, the entrance sign could adapt to their long necks.
